Most breakdown are caused by faulty pumps, blending valves, actuators, flow gauges being blocked or broken, broken thermostat and faulty wiring, very rarely is there a problem with pipework below ground.
Visual Inspection of all exposed pipework and manifold
Check correct operation of pump, blending valve, actuators and flow gauges.
Test the Thermostat: Verify that the thermostat is operating correctly. Check the temperature readings and ensure that it is accurately controlling the heating system.
Verify Zoning and Controls: If your underfloor heating system has zoning capabilities, ensure that the zones are correctly set up and functioning as desired.
Water quality test the System: Take water sample and verify that the system has the correct inhibitor. Find link for process of water testing here.
Use thermal imaging camera to ensure all zones are circulating correctly
Regular servicing and maintenance will not only extend the lifespan of your underfloor heating system but also help you save on energy bills and prevent costly repairs in the future.
